Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the establishment of Parks and Horticulture Authorities (PHAs) in every district of Punjab to enhance cleanliness, as reported on August 26.

As per details, the Chief Minister has directed the planting of as many trees as possible and the activation of streetlights throughout the cities. She emphasised the provincial government’s commitment to addressing public issues and improving the overall quality of life. Chief Minister Nawaz highlighted that the decision to establish PHAs in all districts aims to significantly boost cleanliness and beautification efforts. She instructed the administration to intensify its focus on city beautification, including extensive tree planting and ensuring that streetlights are operational.

The meeting, which was attended by Chief Secretary Zahid Athkar Zaman, Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal, IG Police, Commissioner, Special Assistant Rashid Nasruallah, RPO, and other relevant officials, included a detailed briefing on the initiative. The CM stressed that maintaining the cleanliness of cities, villages, and streets is crucial, and the government is dedicated to ensuring that all areas in the province are both beautiful and functional.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan presented a report on Artificial Intelligence software for monitoring the implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
