Sargodha: The Punjab Housing Authority (PHA) recently announced its decision to develop housing projects on the 700 kanals of land held by the Tehsil Headquarters-Sargodha Division — with the initiative aimed at allotting three to five-marla plots to low-income families through a ballot, a news source reported. As per the publication, the government has already marked the land for this purpose in the Sillanwali and Shahpur areas of the district.

The Deputy Director Housing informed the meeting that apart from urban areas, surveys were also being conducted in rural areas in the district for the construction of the aforementioned housing schemes. He added that the main purpose of these societies was to improve the lifestyle of poor people in the area, who would be provided with state of the art features and amenities in their residences — including a sewerage system, clean drinking water, electricity, and a network of roads.
