Rawalpindi: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Chairman Asif Mehmood recently announced the authority’s decision to approve the development of a modern health club facility for the city’s residents, a news source reported.

According to details shared by sources within the PHA, the proposed health club will feature an array of leisure, recreational and fitness facilities. These include a fully equipped gymnasium, a swimming pool, gaming zones, and eateries featuring local and exotic food items. The PHA will initiate a proper membership drive meant specifically for the residents of Rawalpindi.

The health club is being planned to be built on 60 kanals of land located on the road leading to Allama Iqbal Park Road. Work on this project is expected to be initiated in the start of the fiscal year 2020-21, and the authority is keen on completing the project within one year.

PHA Chairman Mehmood termed the project a ‘gift’ for the citizens of Rawalpindi, where dedicated spots will be reserved for international food chains. In addition, it is also expected to have separate health and recreational facilities for women.
