PHA Chairman SA Hameed expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with members of the team tasked with monitoring parks and greenbelts in Gujranwala. He said that the cattle traders reach urban centres during the Eid-ul-Azha season and occupy open land where the animals graze on the green fields.

Such frequent instances of the cattle grazing in the grass destroys green belts, which the PHA had previously spent months to beautify, he added. He also advised the herders to avoid constructing temporary settlements on open land meant for public spaces.
