PFC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mian Kashif Ashfaq revealed that the council is considering the development of a logistics system and warehouse for better implementation of this initiative. Sharing more details about the initiative, the CEO disclosed that few countries will be targeted, mostly Middle Eastern countries since targeting the whole world would not be feasible.
Moreover, PFC is studying the dynamics of potential countries where Pakistan can meet requirements of price, design, and quality. He went on to say that the furniture exports amount to PKR 500 million. However, with this initiative, PFC intends to attain USD 1 billion mark annually.

CEO Mian Kashif stated that the current imports were decreased by 25% through targeted exhibitions. Nonetheless, the major issue is the availability of raw materials. Due to the shortage and price increase of wood, import is the only option. He mentioned that a plan was being devised for calculating price compatibility and feasibility to import directly from a country. After completion, the plan will be presented to the Ministry of Commerce for tax relief.
