Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered that petrol pumps found selling fuel to bikers not wearing helmets will be sealed, a news source reported. The court had earlier ordered the petrol pumps to not sell petrol to the motorcycle riders not wearing helmets.
Presenting his case before Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi, Advocate Azhar Sidique said that incidents of head injury in road accidents have reduced by 90% ever since the helmet was made necessary for bikers. In some areas, the rule is still being breached causing problems for the traffic police. Siddique requested the court to place a ban on provision of fuel to bikers not wearing helmet.
Hearing the argument, Justice Qureshi issued the order that petrol pumps found selling fuel to bikers not wearing helmets will be sealed.
