Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has directed the relevant authorities to issue intimation letters for land acquisition under the ‘land sharing formula’ to start the New Peshawar Valley City project on time, according to a news story published in the national dailies on June 20.

The CM Khan held a review meeting for the New Peshawar Valley Project and ordered the officials concerned to finalise the arrangements for starting the process of issuance of letters for land acquisition. During the meeting, the minister also asked the authorities to take necessary steps for establishing a sub-office of the Peshawar Development Authority. He further directed the authorities to post required police, human resource, and revenue staff on the project site to take care of land acquisition matters along with devising PC-1 for constriction of access roads.

Furthermore, the attendees were informed that so far 8,000 of land has been cleared for the New Peshawar Valley City and the final master plan was approved in the previous meeting. As per the details, the housing project will be launched on 186,400 kanals out of which 41% has been earmarked for residential plots, and apartments; 28% for roads; 16% for parks and open spaces; 7% for public buildings; and 5% for commercial activities and parking.
