The construction of the Peshawar ring road and the extended route (linking ring road to Jamrud Road of Khyber district) will divert the heavy traffic from the main city to the outside and will ease the traffic congestion on Canal Road, Kohat Road, all neighbouring service roads, and traffic bottlenecks within Hayatabad. This will also make it easier for cars travelling from the southern districts to reach government offices and public and private hospitals in Hayatabad.

To ensure a steady flow of commodities to Torkham, the ring road construction will soon be initiated. The authority has purchased the necessary land and paid the landowners for it; this will be followed by the removal of structures on the acquired property.
