Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (KP-CM) Ali Amin Khan Gandapur convened a high-level meeting to assess traffic management challenges and review proposed road infrastructure projects aimed at easing congestion in Peshawar. The news has been sourced from an article on March 10.

According to the details, key discussions centred on improving traffic flow along major routes, including University Road, Ring Road, and Hayatabad, as well as optimising entry and exit points for smoother city transit. Several strategic measures were outlined to enhance urban mobility.
Among the proposed initiatives were the construction of underpasses, removal of congestion points on University Road, completion of the remaining section of Ring Road, and a feasibility study for alternative traffic solutions and road management improvements. Additionally, a study was approved to explore connecting the Industrial Estate at Hayatabad with the Northern Bypass, aiming to strengthen industrial connectivity and streamline transportation.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Advisor to the Chief Minister on Information, the Special Assistant on Communication and Works, the Chief Secretary, the Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development, and representatives from the Peshawar Development Authority.

CM Gandapur underscored the importance of efficient urban mobility and directed the relevant departments to accelerate planning efforts, optimise available financial resources, and finalise necessary arrangements within 90 days to benefit commuters and residents of Peshawar.
