Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Shahram Taraqai on Tuesday revealed that the remaining work on the Peshawar Ring Road project would begin soon, a news source reported. He disclosed this information while chairing a meeting regarding the incomplete section of the road that leads from Warsak to Nasir Bagh.

The minister said that the ring road was an important project as it would solve the traffic and transport issues of the city, while simultaneously boosting economic activities. It would also serve as a feeder road to the Khyber Economic Corridor. He went on to assure the people present at the meeting that all available resources were being utilized for the project. Previously, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has expressed interest in providing financial support for the construction of the ring road project.

Taraqai added that the concerned line departments, including the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), have been directed to complete the unfinished section as soon as possible, as the ring road was on the government’s priority list of projects.
