Peshawar: Mayor of Peshawar Capital Metropolitan Government Haji Zubair Ali revealed the first budget of PKR 4.49 billion for the city council with a special focus on development, according to a news story published in the national dailies on August 13.

The mayor mentioned that it was a balanced budget prepared in consultation with all councillors. As per the details, in the 2022-23 budget, PKR 1.5 billion will be allocated for the development of the city. It was revealed that PKR 60 million will be allocated for the development of the community while PKR 120 million will be used for the maintenance and repair of the eastern and western zones of the city. Additionally, it was stated that PKR 30 million will be utilised for the installation of streetlights, PKR 114 million for water supply and sanitation, PKR 285 million for unused property to increase revenue, and PKR 57 million for waiting areas and public parks.

Furthermore, PKR 114 million will be used for machinery for municipal service and water bowsers, PKR 7.5 million for natural disasters, PKR 20 million for the repair of electrical transformers, and PKR 3 million for sports.
