Peshawar: The district administration has removed encroachments from the Mattani area along Kohat Road, a news source reported. As part of the anti-encroachment drive, the officials concerned demolished more than 30 illegally-constructed shops.

Following the orders of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar Muhammad Ali Asghar, Additional Assistant Commissioner Asif Iqbal initiated the anti-encroachment drive in the area. Other officials concerned also accompanied him.
To avoid any untoward incident, the district administration had contracted the services of the local police department for the smooth conduct of the operation.

DC Asghar stated that they had initiated the operation after the locals had complained about the encroachments in Mattani at a recent open court. He stated that the drive would be extended to other areas of Peshawar soon; adding that no relaxation would be allowed to anyone on this front.
