Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has approved the addition of six more areas of the city in the jurisdiction of Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), according to news sources.

As per the official statement, CM chaired the fifth board meeting of PDA and provided his approval to the PDA’s territorial expansion. However, the final approval on the matter will be given by the provincial government. These six new areas to be notified under PDA’s authority include:
- Kohat Road (up to Peshawar urban limits)
- Nasir Bagh Road (starting from Jamrud Road)
- Warsak Road (from Khyber Road till northern by-pass)
- Charsadda Road (from Back Khan Chowk up to 7.5 kilometres)
- All areas notified for Gandhara City
Presently, the PDA’s jurisdiction areas include Regi Model Town, Hayatabad, Ring Road, G.T. Road, and Motorway confluence till Motorway Plaza.

The said meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials and was informed that the authority was working on many flagship projects. These projects include New General Bus Stand, Gandhara City, Detour Road, and Northern Section of Ring Road.
The board meeting also okayed the revised estate management rates, payment structures and Auction Regulation 2021. CM Mahmood instructed the authorities to complete the beautification of Hayatabad by June this year. Additionally, the forum approved the plan proposed to improve the solid waste management system in Hayatabad and the acquisition of 200 kanals adjacent to the locale for the public graveyard.
