Peshawar: TransPeshawar CEO Fayyaz Ahmad Khan on Thursday stated that the Peshawar BRT service would start running at full capacity within two weeks, a news source reported. He revealed that 90 buses were already operational on the main route, and once the feeder routes were running, the service would become available at its full capacity.

According to the details available, the Peshawar BRT service was opened for public use on August 13. However, it did not become fully operational, since its feeders were not running yet. Talking to the media, the TransPeshawar CEO said that a status update had been sent to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan pertaining to the Hayatabad feeder route. He added that this route would become operational within the next two weeks.

The CEO explained that they would also be able to determine the actual number of commuters using the service once the joyrides were over in a couple of weeks. He added that the control centres were keeping a keen eye on the bus terminals, so in case of overcrowding, an additional bus was sent to the terminal concerned immediately.
