Peshawar: TransPeshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) has decided to add 86 more buses to its fleet keeping in view the increase in usage and to facilitate the commuters in the city, according to media reports published in the national dailies published on May 10.

According to the BRT spokesperson Saddaf Kamil, the manufacturing of 86 buses was in the final stages and will be imported from China. After the addition of new buses, the total buses under BRT will be 244. As per the details, the new buses are ready to operate on the routes, from Chamkani to Malik Saad station, from Pishtakhara to Mall Road, and from Warsak Road to Main City.
Finance and Health Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra in March disclosed that 6 additional feeder routes have been approved to facilitate locals. He went on to say that the new feeder routes will stretch alongside Hayatabad Phase 1 extension, Regi Model Town, Pabbi, Khyber Road, Nasirbagh Road, Charsadda Road, Warsak Road, and Chamkani-Jhagra.

Reportedly, the official Twitter account of TransPeshawar shared the news that the ridership has crossed 250,000 on daily basis, out of which 25% are females. The said bus service has been lauded by the public for the comfort and value it offers.
