Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Labour and Culture Shaukat Yousafzai has announced that Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will formally be inaugurated by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan tomorrow (Thursday) — a news source reported on August 11. Yousafzai made this revelation while talking to the media on his visit to the project site.

He further said that Chief Minister (CM) Mehmood Khan had supervised work on the BRT project even during the coronavirus pandemic, which meant that the venture was completed without any additional delays and with complete transparency.
On the occasion, the minister visited BRT’s central room where the operations of the project will be monitored, as well as a number of BRT stations to review the work done there. He also announced that the first 200,000 BRT ZU cards would be given to the public for free. He said that it would allow the public, especially women and students, to travel in comfort and benefit the most from the project.

It is expected that once completed, the venture will allow a bus to travel between Chamkani and Hayatabad in 45 minutes.
