Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Manpower Shaukat Yousafzai on Thursday revealed that the authorities concerned had fully completed all the developmental proceedings for the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, a news source reported. He added that the project was slated for launch soon.

The minister revealed that KP Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan had received a briefing on all matters pertaining to the project’s completion. He added that the COVID-19 pandemic had also affected the progress of Peshawar BRT, which would have started by now had the virus not halted its progress.
Yousafzai said that the construction of all BRT stations was fully complete and testing work was underway. He added that around 350,000 people in the city would benefit from the traveling facilities provided by the project on a daily basis.

Earlier, Special Assistant to CM for Local Government (LG) Kamran Khan Bangash said that the provincial government would complete the BRT project by the end of the fiscal year in June.
