Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Transport Shah Muhammad shared that 62 new buses for Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) have arrived at Port Qasim in Karachi and will soon be added to the bus service fleet, according to news published in the leading newspaper on August 2.

According to BRT Spokesperson Sadaf Kamil, the new buses will be sent to Peshawar after inspection and customs clearance. Transport Minister Shah Muhammad mentioned that the government ordered a Chinese company to manufacture 86 new buses for Peshawar BRT earlier this year. It was mentioned that the remaining 24 buses will arrive soon. The total number of buses to be operating on the BRT routes will be 244 buses after the remaining buses arrive.

It is pertinent to note that due to the popularity of the bus service amongst the public, the government decided to add more buses to the fleet. With the addition of new buses, the BRT Peshawar aims to provide better transport facilities for the people of Peshawar.
