Karachi: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Saturday inaugurated he People’s Square in Karachi, a news source reported. The place would serve as a public space and underground car parking facility near the Sindh Secretariat. The visitors to the Secretariat as well as students of education institutes in the vicinity would have access to the car parking facility.

Bilawal highlighted that the authorities concerned would also restore the structures around the Karachi People’s Square under the Neighbourhood Improvement Project with assistance from the World Bank (WB). The PPP chairman said that the Sindh government planned to construct such public spaces in all districts of the province.
Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah and members of the provincial cabinet also attended the inauguration ceremony. Meanwhile, the current and former country directors of the WB Group also spoke at the event via an online link.

Bilawal revealed that development projects were underway in Malir and other districts of Karachi. He said that a project was in the pipeline for the Wazir Mansion in Kharadar. He opined that Karachi’s uplift would boost development in not only Sindh but the rest of the country as well.
