Karachi: The Sindh Transport Department has decided to start the operation of the People’s Intra-District Bus Service on Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Defence, and Clifton after the increased demand from the public, according to news published on July 5.

This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon. During the meeting, it was also decided to expand the routes of the bus service in Larkana city. As per the details, Larkana city will have four routes for the People’s Intra-District Bus Service. The deputy commissioner has been assigned the task to plan and submit the proposal for new routes. In addition, it was informed that the People’s Bus Service in Larkana will start its operation from July 16 with a fleet of 16 buses.

Moreover, the minister has asked the National Radio Transmission Company (NRTC) to finalise the additional routes of Karachi city within two days with two experts with the help of independent experts. He went on to say that the technology-based system should be added to the bus service. With this, the buses will be equipped with Wi-Fi and real-time tracking facilities, and CCTV cameras. Further, he added that the Sindh Mass Transit Authority’s officials should be deployed at the Command and Control Centre of the bus service.
