Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah stated that six more routes of the People’s Bus Service will be operationalised within two days, according to news published on July 20.

CM Shah chaired a meeting in which he shared that two routes of the bus service are already functional and six more will be made operational. He also mentioned that the infrastructure of the remaining four routes will be improved. During the meeting, the CM directed Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon to start the 30-kilometre Route No. 9 from Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Malir Cantt. He further added that the buses are available and the route is clear, so the service must start as soon as possible.
Transport Minister Memon notified CM Shah that Route No.1 (Malir to Towner) was 27-kilometre-long and 37 buses were being operated on the route. He further added that the 38 buses were plying on 30-kilometre long Route No.2 (North Karachi to Korangi Crossing).

Moreover, the chief minister was informed that Route No.3 (North Karachi to Nasir Jump) is 38-kilometre-long and 38 buses will be operationalised from July 22. Reportedly, the transport minister disclosed that Route No.6 (Orangi Town to Singer Chowrangi) will be operationalised on August 22. He mentioned that in Orangi, a portion of the route was damaged due to the heavy rains, which needs to be repaired. The portions of the road from Ajmer Nagri to Shahrah-e-Noorjahan also require renovation. In this regard, the CM directed the authorities concerned to repair the roads as a priority.
