Reportedly, to prevent fraudulent housing schemes from scamming citizens, housing schemes will be required to produce an ‘Advertisement NOC’ from the LDA. Moreover, schemes will publicise their QR code, which will link to the official LDA website, providing information about the project and its legal status to facilitate potential buyers. LDA has laid forth criteria for advertisement in a letter to the PEMRA in accordance with the Lahore High Court’s directive (LHC). Any housing plan that wishes to advertise must include the following information:
- Area of the housing scheme
- Number of blocks and plot details
- Mortgaged plots
- Number of commercial and residential plots
- NOC diary number
- QR code

Additionally, in a directive given to media outlets, PEMRA has asked that marketers meet the conditions outlined in paragraph (3) of Rule-45 of the LDA Private Housing Schemes Rules-2014. It is worth noting that LDA has previously issued similar advertisements in leading newspapers, encouraging the public to avoid investing in illegal schemes and to check the LDA website before doing so.
