Lahore: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has sanctioned five development schemes worth PKR 3.34 billion to develop various sectors of Bahawalpur and Wazirabad in the department’s 37th meeting for the fiscal year 2019-20.
Planning and Development Board (P&D) Chairman Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh supervised the meeting which included notable members of P&D, provincial secretaries and other senior representatives of relevant departments.

The approved development schemes include improvement of Thalassemia Unit and Bone Marrow Transplant Centre at Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital – worth PKR 1.17 billion, supply of essential missing equipment for Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology – worth PKR 704.208 million.
The installation of solar panels in Basic Health Units (Phase-I) amount to PKR 449.400 million whereas Phase-IIhas been allotted PKR 647.467 million. Moreover, to boost the provincial fruit production, the department plans to provide ‘certified plants’ worth PKR 360.333 million.
