Peshawar: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Thursday approved three health and water related development projects worth PKR 3.6 billion for the city, a news source reported.

As per the publication, Planning and Development (P&D) Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan chaired a PDWP meeting where this announcement was made. Other senior officials, including several PDWP members and department officials, were also present at the occasion.

The meeting deliberated on five projects related to health and urban development and approved three. The proposals for the remaining two were sent back to the departments concerned for revisions. The approved health-related projects include the construction of six Type-D hospital facilities – with one each in Dera Ismail Khan, Mohmand, Orakzai, and Khurram, and two in South Waziristan.

The meeting also approved the renovation of nine Rural Health Centres (RHCs) and the acquisition of new equipment for the same. It further sanctioned the attainment of spray-vehicles and other essential equipment for six districts. Additionally, the projects pertaining to the region’s drain cleaning efforts were also given the nod.
