Lahore: The Provincial Development and Working Party (PDWP) on Thursday approved several development schemes worth PKR 7. 667 billion, a news source reported. The proposed initiatives pertain to the development of the fisheries and energy sector.

PDWP sanctioned the schemes during its fourth meeting for FY2019-20, which was presided over by P&D Board Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani. P&D Acting Secretary Aman Babar, along with other concerned officials, also attended the meeting.
The approved projects included two schemes for the fisheries and one for energy department.

For developing the fisheries sector, the authorities concerned plan to commence the construction work on a cage fish culture worth PKR 3.614, as well as a pilot shrimp farming cluster worth PKR 3.696 billion.
The proposed energy project comprises retrofitting of public institutes. This initiative forms part of the World Bank-funded Punjab green development programme worth PKR 357.540 million.
