Peshawar: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday provided its approval to 16 uplift projects worth PKR 15.391 billion, a news source reported. These schemes included projects pertaining to the housing sector, small dams, roads and bridges, multi-sectoral development, relief & rehabilitation, and drainage, water supply, & sanitation (DWSS).

With the Planning & Development Department Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Atif Rehman in the chair, the PDWP met in Peshawar to sanction the development of the following initiatives:
- Restoration of flood-damaged Chitral-Boni Road
- Construction of the Gandao small dam in Mohmand Agency
- Revised feasibility study and design for constructing a bypass road from Ayub Bridge in Havellian (N-35) to Dhamtour in Abbottabad
- Improvement and widening of Suraj Gali Hattar Road in Haripur
- Strengthening of east-west connectivity of the newly merged tribal districts (NMTDs) with settled districts
- PC-2 for feasibility study and design for an alternative frontier road from Indus Highway (N-55) to Jamrud in Khyber district
- Design and construction of Toormor Lodhi Post and Spina Soka Post roads in Khyber
- Construction of Ghar Kalay (Shuhada Road) Mitha Khel in Karak district
- Extension, rehabilitation, and solarisation of Public Health Engineering (PHE) facilities in Mohmand
- Construction of water supply & sanitation project in Bakka Khel, adjoining areas of Bannu, Union Councils (UCs) of Shawar, Gwalarai, Biha, Purkalay, Arkot, Bandai, Koza, Bara Bandai, and village councils of Shalband and Labat in PK-8 of Swat

Further, the PDWP approved the economic revitalisation plan for North Waziristan among other projects.
