Lahore: On Tuesday, the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved the implementation of the National Flood Protection Plan-IV (Umbrella PC-I) worth PKR 332.25 billion, according to a news source.
This plan was approved in the 74th meeting of the PDWP for the fiscal year of 2017-18. It was presided over by Planning and Development Department Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan and was attended by the P&D Secretary, members of the P&D board, the respective provincial secretaries, and other relevant officials. This plan was prepared to prevent the adverse effects of seasonal flooding on Pakistan’s economy and population, and proposed the implementation of the relevant measures.
