Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday provided its approval to the construction of several roads and bridges at an estimated cost of PKR 4.5 billion, a news source reported on October 11.
The PDWP sanctioned these urban development schemes during its 13th meeting for the going year. The session was presided over by P&D Board Chairman Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh. P&D Provincial Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch, Senior Chief (Coordination) Javed Latif, Assistant Chief (Coordination) Shahid Idrees, and other officials concerned, were all present on the occasion.

The road projects pertain to:
- Rehabilitation/widening and improvement of Bhera Bhalwal Road in District Sargodha; at a revised cost of PKR 828.258 million
- Dualization of road from Amra to Sahana Lok in District Mandi Bahaud Din; at a cost of PKR 640.478 million
- Dualization of Taxila to HMC Farooqia Road in Rawalpindi; at a revised cost of PKR 1,386.421 million
Further, the officials concerned sanctioned a clean drinking water scheme for UC-99, 100 and 101 in Lahore at a cost of PKR 1,655.185 million.
