Peshawar: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Monday provided its approval to the construction of the 360km-long Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway project, a news source reported.

According to the details revealed, the infrastructure scheme is expected to be completed at a cost of PKR 276 billion and would include the construction of two tunnels.
Following its completion, the Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway would connect the southern and merged districts with the rest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in addition to reducing traffic load on the Indus Highway.
Moreover, commuters from Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan will be able to reach other destinations on a timely basis.

It is pertinent to mention here that KP Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan had provided his approval to the project during his meeting with lawmakers belonging to the province’s southern districts.
