Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved the development of eight uplift schemes, including the rehabilitation of Rawalpindi’s Adyala Road, worth PKR 19,814 million – a news source reported. The PDWP sanctioned these schemes during its 14th meeting of the (fiscal year) FY2019-20.
The thoroughfare rehabilitation projects include the repairs work on the 11.50-kilometre-long Adyala Road from Gorakhpur to Jarrar Camp More in Rawalpindi, as well as the rehabilitation of the roads from Ladain via Jarrar Camp and Sangral Village. This project will be completed at an approximate cost of PKR 672.3 million. Similarly, the route from Vanike Tarrar to Hafizabad Road including the Hafizabad Bypass road will be improved at a cost of PKR 486.1 million.

Moreover, a Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control and Communication Centre would constructed in Dera Ghazi Khan at a cost of PKR 2,819.9 million. Similarly, nine regional centres would be established in the province at a cost of PKR 646.3 million.

As per reports, Multan would get a new Tertiary Care Hospital; the construction of which is expected to cost PKR 8,842.2 million. A multi-sectoral nutrition centre programme worth PKR 380.1 million would be launched.
Moreover, the solarisation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems would be ensured. This project is expected to cost PKR 3,750.3 million. Meanwhile, the land record facilities at qanungoi level would be improved at a cost of PKR 2,216.7 million.
