Peshawar: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved 14 development projects worth PKR 10.374 billion for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a news source reported. It sanctioned the schemes during a special meeting, which was presided over by Additional Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash. Planning & Development Secretary Atif Rehman, along with district-level officers, also attended the meeting.
The participants reviewed a total of 18 projects; including road rehabilitation, multi-sector development, local government, water, education, home sectors, and agricultural uplift. Eight of the infrastructural pursuits were approved under the government’s ‘Tribal Decade Strategy’ initiative for which it had recently allocated PKR 9.132 billion.

The approved projects in the roads sector included the construction and blacktopping of Banda Fateh Khan Road, Khazana Naguman Road Project Division Peshawar, Darmalak road, Darmalak to Ghorzandi road, Rehman Abad Pakka road, Darsha Khel road, Krappa Shakardara road including bridge, and PCC Roads in UCs, Sodhal, Lachi rural, Mandori District Kohat, construction of Shaktoo bridge on Janikhel road and Construction/Rehabilitation of roads in Tehsil Bakha Khel and adjoining areas District Bannu.

Other approved projects include: provision of clean drinking water, construction of Neeli Tangi Weir and Bada Khel Weir water projects (Khyber district), provision of basic stationery, school bags and other educational facilities through Parent-teacher Committee-led conditional Grants (education sector), integrated agriculture development, culturable waste land development, and solarisation of existing agriculture tube/open wells in the recently merged tribal areas.
