Quetta: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and the Pakistan Islamic Relief (PIR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for initiating planning to curb effects of natural disasters, as per a news report. Addressing the ceremony, the caretaker Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering Naveed Kalmati said that climate change is affecting Balochistan and that there is an immediate need for all concerned authorities to take concrete steps.
The provincial government and the PIR launched a Climate Change Awareness Campaign earlier this month, which will expire by the end of it. Kalmati stressed on the importance of awareness of climate change and said that all experts, teachers, and students should participate in this campaign.
