Peshawar: On the special request of Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Science and Technology Kamran Khan Bangash, the local government department has handed over managerial control of 10 parks to Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), reported a news source. A formal notice in this regard has also been issued.
The notice states that the responsibility to provide jogging tracks, install LED lights, manage plantations, construct boundary walls, arrange for benches, and to launch expansion projects and beautification drive for some parks has been handed over to PDA. These parks include Gymkhana Park, Shahi Bagh, Jinnah Park and five parks in Gulbahar and two in Sheikhabad. The expense for uplift and maintenance of these parks will be arrange from funds issued for Bangash’s constituency.
At the moment, maintenance and management of all parks in Peshawar is the responsibility of District Municipal Administration (DMA). And due to poor the conditions of these parks managed by DMA, people have instead been heading to similar facilities in Hayatabad. To help control the situation, the mentioned parks will be managed by PDA.
