PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan stressed for the timely completion of the remaining work in the Peshawar Media Colony and directed the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to make the necessary payments for the provision of Sui gas and electricity to the society, according to a news report published today (October 22).
The chief minister said that the welfare of the journalist community is one of the top priorities of his government and all possible steps would be taken to resolve their genuine issues. He directed the authorities concerned to expedite the work on the expansion of media colony’s access roads.

Khan also directed for all arrangements to be made so the allocation process of dedicated land for the media enclave, in the proposed Peshawar Model Town, can be timely completed. While talking to a delegation of the Peshawar Press Club, matters related to the welfare of journalists were discussed. Peshawar Press Club President Syed Bukhar Shah led the delegation, which also included Imran Yousafzai, Shehzada Fahad and other office-bearers.

Reportedly, the meeting was convened to assess the journalists’ requirements and to speed up the process of establishing the media enclave in the proposed Peshawar Model Town. The authority claims of releasing the money for the extension of electricity and Sui gas to the Peshawar Media Colony. Approval was also granted for the construction of an access bridge to the media colony during the meeting.
