Multan: The Government of Punjab has made the provision of funds for a PKR 1.8 billion sewerage and water supply project in Multan conditional to its approval by the Planning & Development Department – a news source reported.

According to details, the Water and Sewerage Agency (WASA) has demanded PKR 1 billion for water supply projects around the city, and an additional PKR 800 million for new sewerage projects from the Government of Punjab for the next fiscal year to execute these project.
The government, in its reply, has instructed WASA to contact Planning & Development to obtain approval for these projects by September 30, so that the funds could be released without any hindrances.

WASA officials have begun the preparation of paperwork for the purpose and will apply for the approval soon. The projects will begin later this year after the funds have been released.
