Lahore: Chairman Planning and Development (P&D) Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal briefed the media about the budget utilisation of the province during the first half of the current fiscal year (FY 2021-22), according to a news story published on Thursday (January 13).

As per the details, the chairman informed the media that the total budget of Punjab has been increased from PKR 560 billion to PKR 646 billion. He reported that PKR 170 billion was spent on various development projects. P&D Chairman further added that the department has facilitated all government institutions for utilising funds and ensured the use of funds up to PKR 200 billion in the ongoing month.
Chairman P&D Board Sumbal stated that PKR 104 billion has been released and PKR 49 billion have been spent on new projects. Currently, there are 4,433 new schemes and over 3,000 existing schemes underway in the province. So far, the P&D health sector has released PKR 60 billion.

Moreover, Chairman Sumbal, while discussing the progress of the Planning & Development Board, stated that 170 schemes, out of 238 projects, have been approved at the Provincial Development Forum. He went on to say that the government is keen to work on public-private partnerships and PKR 25 billion has been set aside for public-private partnerships.
