Lahore: The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA) has completed excavation work on the Kalma Chowk Underpass project and has started the next phase of the development, news sources reported on January 16.

As per the PCBDDA press release, the next phase will include the slabbing of barrels and the completion of the piling work for the project. It is also stated that the construction team has started the construction of a rainwater harvesting tank at St. Mary Park, while work on the sump pump water well for the sewerage water disposal station at Centre Point has nearly been completed.

The authority has closed the service lane in front of CBD Punjab and has started its upgrade, whereas the authorities concerned will complete the shifting of pipelines and electric cables soon. With the completion of the Kalma Underpass project phase, the PCBDDA has also issued a new traffic plan and closed the underpass lane coming from Barkat Market.
