Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a major upgrade project for Gaddafi Stadium, National Stadium, and Rawalpindi Stadium, with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi granting final approval for their redesigns, as reported on August 16.

As per details, this initiative aims to modernise these key cricket venues in preparation for the upcoming Champions Trophy. During a recent visit to the UK, Naqvi toured the headquarters of BDP, a renowned international stadium design firm, where he was updated on the progress of the upgrade projects and reviewed the final design plans.
Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the designs and praised the design team for their outstanding work. “Completing these upgrades on schedule is a significant challenge,” Naqvi remarked, “but I am confident that our team will rise to the occasion and complete the projects on time.”

He assured that the stadiums will be ready well before the Champions Trophy, meeting the high standards required for the prestigious event. Naqvi confirmed that he is personally overseeing the progress to ensure timely completion.
The upgrades are set to enhance the facilities significantly, bringing them up to international standards and positioning them to host top-tier cricket events in the future.
