Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Commissioner Captain (retired) Muhammad Mehmood on Wednesday said that the authorities concerned will prepare the PC-I for Kutchery and Defence intersections remodeling project within a week; adding that these schemes would be made part of the development plans for the next fiscal year.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting at the Commissioner’s Office. Finance and Planning Director Nazia Parveen Sundhan and Assistant Director Muhammad Moazzam were present on the occasion, while representatives from NESPAK attended the session through video link.
He said that the authorities concerned would commence with the construction work at Kutchery Chowk prior to beautifying the Defence Chowk; adding that the remodeling projects would improve traffic flow at the said intersections.

The commissioner said that NESPAK had provided its approval to the feasibility study and design for both the projects, which would be completed at a total cost of PKR 5 billion. He added that the process for verifying land owners affected by the projects was underway. He said that the authorities concerned had finalised estimates for the transfer of utility lines and land acquisition.
