Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has prepared a PC-1 worth PKR 196 billion for the construction of apartments and infrastructure under the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments project — a news source reported. The LDA has been tasked with the construction of the apartments — with the project falling under the auspices of the government’s flagship Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).

The PC-1 will now be presented for approval before the LDA’s Governing Body in its upcoming meeting. The Chief Engineer has sent the PC-1 to the LDA Director General Ahmad Aziz Tarar.
As per the PC-1, 1012 high-rise buildings will be constructed in an area of about 8,255 kanals, that will feature around 35,000 apartments. The following are the various categories of apartments available:
- 320 buildings will have 10,248 apartments sized 650 sq ft
- 387 buildings will have 12,364 apartments sized 800 sq ft
- 245 buildings will have 7,840 apartments sized 1,100 sq ft
- 35 buildings will have 3,360 apartments sized 1,500 sq ft

Of the total funds, PKR 153 billion will be allocated for the construction of the said apartments, while PKR 9.5 billion will be allocated for road construction; PKR 3.5 billion will be allocated for sewerage work; and PKR 2.5 billion will be allocated for acquisition of land.
