Multan: The city administration has announced its decision to prepare the PC-1 for the rehabilitation of all historic buildings in Multan, as well as to facilitate the development of the Multan Walled City initiative, a news source reported. The decision was taken in a meeting held yesterday with Punjab Parliamentary Secretary on Information and Culture Nadeem Qureshi in the chair.

The meeting was attended by Multan Deputy Commissioner Amir Khattak and expert on preservation of historical sites Ghulam Muhammad, as well as other officials engaged for the project’s development. The participants decided to form the PC-1 for the preservation of Multan’s Sirafa Bazar.

According to details, the PC-1 will be prepared to initiate work on the rehabilitation of the city’s gates and that of the historic wall that runs from Dehli Gate to Khooni Burj. Multan DC Khattak said that historic glory of the city will be restored.
For this purpose, Multan’s Qila Kahna Qasim Bagh is expected to host the city’s biggest Sufi Festival featuring an exhibition of paintings depicting the city’s culture. The festival will feature local artists and artisans from Multan and provide them with an opportunity to display their skills.

The DC also announced the employees of the Multan Walled City project have started to receive their salaries.
