Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Sunday revealed that it recently prepared the PC-1 for the operationalization of Metro Bus Services for the New Islamabad International Airport, a news source reported. According to details, the Metro Bus System would run from Peshawar Morr to the airport.

According to details, the project’s PC-1 includes fleet acquisition, security surveillance & AFC system acquisition, IT, and construction of allied infrastructure such as command & control centre. The PC-1 also includes the preliminary cost estimation of the project.
While preparing the PC-1 for the airport’s Metro Bus Service, CDA has also included the operations of 30 new air-conditioned buses – preferably electric – that will run on the said route according to a fixed time schedule.
Initially, CDA will act as the executing agency for the project but following the establishment of the Capital Mass Transit Authority, the project will undergo a transfer.
Meanwhile, CDA officials will submit the PC-1 to the federal government for final approval and to secure the release of the required funds.

The New Islamabad Airport’s Metro Bus Service will feature a 25.60km-long signal-free corridor from Peshawar Morr to the airport. The corridor will have eight median stations. The National Highway Authority (NHA) would manage the construction of the project.
