Narowal: Federal Minister of Planning & Development Ahsan Iqbal on Monday (November 21) directed concerned departments to submit a revised Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the Narowal Sports City project, news sources reported.

Minister Iqbal urged the Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry (IPC) and the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to speed up work on the project while guaranteeing quality. He said this while chairing a project review meeting. He urged the board to form a company by December 15 to handle the upkeep of the Sport City and to nominate people from various walks of life for overseeing the project development. He further asked that the project be made operational by March 23, 2023, and that all essential procurements be completed before the deadline.

Reportedly, Narowal Sports City is a vast infrastructure project that comprises 14 stadiums and courts for sports such as cricket, football, hockey, volleyball, squash, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, and other activities. The project has been in the works since 2016, but progress has been slow in recent years.
