Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has submitted PC-1 for the Leh Expressway and Flood Channel Project’s land acquisition to the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) for final approval, according to news published on Sunday (October 17).

As per the details, the Punjab Planning and Development Board has approved the project and land will be acquired after CDWP approves PC-1. According to a senior official of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), a detailed design and PC-1 will be completed by October 22 for the construction of Leh Expressway. Once completed, it will be sent to Planning and Development Board for approval.
Moreover, the government ordered the concerned authorities to complete the formalities for the land acquisition process. It was mentioned that the deputy commissioner will assign the assistant commissioner (revenue) to acquire land for the said project.

Furthermore, Leh Expressway is expected to be launched by December of the current year. However, it was reported that the environmental assessment report has not been prepared, which is essential for the launch of any project. A concerned official revealed that the report will be completed within a month. He disclosed that the Leh Expressway will be constructed under a public-private partnership and its development will be executed by RDA.
