Faisalabad: The Punjab Highways Department prepared the PC-1 for a dual carriageway project that would connect Satiana Bypass Road and Jhang Road following its completion, a news source reported. As per officials, the department forwarded the PC-1 to the provincial government for approval.

The 15-kilometre long project is estimated to cost PKR 1.35 billion. Once the provincial government approves its PC-1, the road project will be included in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the next fiscal year. The government wants to develop its road infrastructure in a bid to facilitate industrial growth under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project..
Reportedly, the highways department issued directives to its staff to clear the right of way for the Satiana Bypass Road and Jhang Road . In addition, it also requested the executive to issue funds required for land acquisition.

For this purpose, the Faisalabad administration is expected to submit a formal request (in two weeks) to the provincial government to impose a ban on the sale of the land identified for the project’s development.
