Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved PC-1s for major development projects – worth an accumulative PKR 12 billion – including the construction of Bhara Kahu Bypass, a road to link Margalla Road with Sector E-11, and the expansion and overhauling of Park Road, according to news published on September 7.

CDA Chairman (retired) Captain Mohammad Usman informed that the Development Working Party (DWP) approved all three projects. As per the details, a 5-kilometre-long road will be constructed to link Margalla Road with E-11. The road will start from GT Road and will end near Sector D-12 at Khayaban-i-Iqbal near E-11, where an interchange will be constructed. The project is expected to be completed within a year. Moreover, the city administrators revealed that the Margalla Road from GT Road to D-12 is near completion and will be completed by December.
Another PC-1 approved during the meeting was for the expansion and overhauling of Park Road. Under this project, Park Road will be expanded and widened from Rawal Chow to Tramari Chowk. It was mentioned that an additional lane will also be added to each side. According to sources, DWP has also instructed CDA to build a metro bus station on Park Road.

Additionally, the Bhara Kahu Bypass project will include a 1.5-kilometre flyover, starting from Murree Road near Quaid-i-Azam University Stop and will end at Murree Road, near Jugi Stop. The project is expected to be completed within four months.
