Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s Development Working Party (DWP) recently approved the PC-I for the development of Sector I-12, as well as the expansion of the Rawal Chowk through the construction of an underpass, according to news sources.
Sector I-12 was among the PC-I of seven projects approved by the CDA-DWP meeting held on Tuesday, with Chairman CDA Amer Ali Ahmed in the chair. Other initiatives included the development of the city’s infrastructure, electrical and mechanical works – and the provision of other civic amenities and services in the sector.
According to reports, the allottees of 6,400 residential plots in Sector I-12 have been waiting for the launch of development work for over a decade.
In addition to this, the meeting also approved the construction of an underpass and a flyover at Rawal Dam Chowk in order to reduce traffic congestion and ease the vehicular flow on Murree Road.

The PC-II of consultancy services to be engaged for the assessment of capital’s existing infrastructure, design and implementation plan of sectoral areas and prominent highways and city points was also approved.
Further, the PC-I for expansion and enhancement of Koran Road (between Margalla Phase-I and II) was also approved, with an estimated cost of PKR 101.82 million. The revised PC-I (with an estimated cost of PKR 223.491 million) was also approved to fix barbed wire fence, warning boards, and boundary pillars in the stalled sectors (C-14, C-15, C-16, H-16, I-17, I-12, E-12, Kurri and Rehara).

The project for development of a model urban shelter at Farash Town was also approved, along with the relocation of a pedestrian bridge, located at Constitution Avenue to facilitate Pak Secretariat visitors.
