Rawalpindi: Planning and Development Department Punjab has approved PC-1 for supplying water to eight union councils of PP-12 from Chahan Dam, reported a news source. Th project cost estimated at PKR 5 billion is still under debate.
The union councils that will receive water from Chahan Dam are Lakhan, Dhamial, Girja, Chak Jalal Din, Dhaman and Kalyal. The dam will supply six million gallons of water to these union councils on a daily basis.
Under this project, water lines will be laid in these mouzas, and related network will be set up where needed. Each of these union councils will also have an underground storage tank and overhead water tanks.
