Islamabad: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Monday revealed data in cement exports in the country recorded during June, a news source reported. The data shared indicated that the exports increased by 46.52% as compared to the same period of 2019.

The data revealed the exports stood at USD 16.935 million in June 2020 as compared to USD 11.558 in June 2019. Although, this figure stands 12.27% lower than the one recorded in May 2020. The cumulative cement exports also experienced a decrease of 4.52% during financial year (FY) 2019-20 as compared to the previous fiscal year.

On the other hand, the quantity of cement exports increased by 10.79% during FY2019-20 – standing at 7,103,373 metric tonnes compared to 6,411,359 metric tonnes recorded during FY2018-19. Sources have also revealed that the country’s trade deficit underwent a significant decrease during FY20. The figure declined by 27.12% as compared to the trade deficit recorded during the preceding fiscal year.
