Karachi: Sindh Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the arrival of a new fleet of People’s Bus Service (PBS) buses in Karachi, according to news sources on July 24.

The announcement of this addition of buses to the fleet of People’s Bus Service was made on the minister’s official Twitter account. Minister Memon expressed that this development will enable the Transport Department of the Sindh government to introduce new routes in the city. The addition of these buses aims to enhance ease, access, and mobility for the public.
Last month, the provincial administration introduced a smartphone app for PBS passengers. Minister Memon highlighted that the app is available for both iPhone and Android users, and it offers real-time tracking of buses, along with information on bus fares, timings, and other relevant details.
Besides the PBS fleet expansion, the government is also gearing up to introduce e-taxis, a modern and cutting-edge transportation option, offering the public an innovative way to commute.

Furthermore, significant progress is being made on the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. This BRT system, which will run on biogas, is set to be Pakistan’s first of its kind, providing an efficient and eco-friendly public transportation solution in the region.
